FAQ's

Have questions? No worries we got you covered!

How much does new product development cost?

The cost varies depending on the type of product you're looking to create. If it’s a straightforward product from our existing portfolio, development starts at around £2,000 per SKU. For more unique, tailored creations, the cost can increase accordingly. The best way to get an accurate idea is to schedule a free discovery session, where we can discuss your specific needs in detail and explore the best path forward for your project.

How long does the product development process take?

The timeline for product development depends on the complexity of your concept and the level of customisation required. A simple, straightforward product can be ready in as little as 8-12 weeks, whereas more intricate, bespoke products may take longer. We’ll work with you to establish realistic timelines and keep you informed every step of the way.

What am I paying for?

With over a decade of experience in drinks development, you're investing in a custom, unique recipe where the intellectual property is transferred to you upon approval. We also support you beyond development, assisting with your first production run and scaling your product for long-term success. Thanks to our strong industry relationships with manufacturers and suppliers, we can help you secure better rates and shorter lead times. Plus, we manage all the essential testing—nutritional analysis, stability, shelf life, and ABV (if alcoholic)—so your product is market-ready from day one.

Who owns the product?

Once development is complete and the recipe IP is handed over, the product is entirely yours. While we craft the recipe to your exact requirements, there’s a big leap from sampling to full-scale production. Only after a successful commercial trial and your final approval do we consider the liquid fully developed. That said, there are many factors that can impact the final product during scale-up, and as the saying goes, “you don’t know until you try.” Our experience helps you anticipate potential challenges, but the journey to launch may have its bumps along the way.

Do you have your own production facility?

We don’t have our own production facility, and that’s by design. While some companies offer micro trials, scaling up to larger facilities often requires running another trial due to differences in equipment and preservation techniques—something we see as a false economy. By keeping our overheads low, we can pass those savings on to you. Instead, we work closely with large-scale production partners, allowing us to be hands-on throughout the process and ensuring your beverage is developed with scalability at the forefront of the project.

Can I visit the production facility?

We can arrange site visits with our production partners, so you can see the process firsthand. It’s a great opportunity to witness your product coming to life and to better understand the scale and operations involved.

Can you help with branding and packaging?

Yes! We don’t just develop great liquids—we can also assist with branding and packaging design. From label design and creation to sourcing sustainable packaging, we work closely with our partners to ensure your product looks as good as it tastes.

What can go wrong?

In early-stage developments, we always recommend running a trial production to test crucial factors like shelf life, stability, and microbiological makeup, while also giving you a chance to test the market. In most cases, these trials result in saleable products, but depending on the product type, adjustments may be needed before full-scale production. A typical trial run is around 10,000 units, costing approximately £0.70 per unit (excluding ingredients) and covering packaging, closures, labels, and outer packaging.

Can you help us scale up?

Absolutely. We’ve taken brands from small 1,000-litre trials to large-scale production runs of 80,000 litres or more. As you scale, economies of scale kick in, significantly reducing costs. For example, while a smaller run might cost around £0.70 per unit, larger runs can bring that cost down to approximately £0.25 per unit, all inclusive.

Who have you worked with?

We've partnered with a diverse range of clients, from UK retailers and ambitious start-ups in India to established distributors in Australia. Our creations have made their way onto the shelves of Marks & Spencer, Ocado, and Harvey Nichols, and can be found in top bars and restaurants worldwide. Whether it's elevating a brand or launching something entirely new, our drinks are enjoyed across the globe.
